canonical tag in Joomla 2.5 website

Can anybody help me with a step by step solution how to add the canonical tag in Joomla 2.5 website to my site?
www.vip-wedding-hawaii.com
I do have SHF 404 installed and I read that that also would be good for the canonical tag. If that is the recommended way, how to I use it for the canonical tag ?

- I honestly don't know. I had an audit done to improve my SEO and the file that, my canonical tag where missing. Since it was strongly advised to add that, I am trying to figure out how. Any ideas?

Hi Angy,
No problem. I think Google give a good discription of canonical tags (URLs) here: support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139394?hl=en
Basically a single page on your website may have several different URLs, even though they take visitors to the same spot. If a search engine finds that all the links go to the same place it may choose the least desirable URL and display it in search results. With the canonical link element you can designate the URL you want to be displayed.
URL examples:
www.example.com/product.php?item=wedding-video
www.example.com/wedding-video.html
Both may actually go to the same page on your site but the lower, simpler one would look better in search results.
If you are using sh404SEF, you can set the canonical URL in the URL Manager.
