Mynxx for 1.5: how do I remove the modules newsflash & login

- I'm using Mynxx for 1.5. I don't like the black strip for the modules newsflash & login. How can I remove these modules entirely. I tried using index.php file but didn't have much success.

I am afraid that from the beginning of 2013 we no longer can provide support for J1.5 related issues. This has been clearly announced in our blog more than 1 year ago
