Trying to upgrade template for Joomla 2.5

Posted 11 years 10 months ago
    • Hi all,
I will start with I am an absolute novice with all of this! My orgs new site host required a Joomla upgrade which made it incompatible with the template we were using. So I just purchased a hivemind 2.5 template and upgraded from the 1.5 template but everything doesn't seem to be working.

I'm not sure how to better explain it other than, the old site looks like this:
      www.nycpsych.org/

The new one looks like this:
      siteground119.com/~nycpsych/jupgrade/

As I said I'm a complete beginner with all of this, and getting to this point has already been quite difficult. Is there an easy way to get everything back to looking normal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
      Thanks
      Meagan

    • Hello Meagan,

When you update any of our templates via Joomla! Extensions Manager, they will eliminate core extension/template file changes (such as CSS changes). So when you make any extensive custom changes to our template files, you should manually update instead. You'll need to use a Difference / Merge tool to make the update.

For more information, please vist: www.rockettheme.com/blog/coding/ ... tomisation

You're also going to need to place modules back to their proper positions and replace the logo with yours. That should be a start.

      Hope that helps!
