I have a website that was published over a month ago and was working great until sometime in the last week or so. I'd like to restore my site using my akeeba backup. However, the akeeba instructions are greek to me. Can someone tell me how to use my backup to put my site back to the way it was using the backup?
Do I have to delete everything from my server and basically start over? Or do I just install the back up right on the server? Simple (dumbed down instructions) please?

Hi there,
First of all do you have a backup from akeeba to restore? Without that you cannot do a restore.
If you do have a backup is it shown in the Akeeba admin > administer backup files. If it is then just select it and click on the restore option at top right of screen.
If the backup is already downloaded to your pc then you need to ftp to components/com_akeeba/backup folder. Then via Akeeba admin you need to import that backup so it is recognised and then follow instructions above.
Hope this helps
