    RocketTheme Joomla Templates Compatibility Matrix

Posted 11 years 9 months ago
    • Hi,

I use the Reflex template for my J2.5.11 site. I saw the RocketTheme Joomla Templates Compatibility Matrix page at www.rockettheme.com/joomla-templates/compatibility-matrix

The matrix page shows the Reflex template is only a fixed width version and not yet J3.1 compatible.
      1) Does that mean the RT devs will be making the Reflex template J3.1 compatible and it will be responsive for desktops/tablets/smartphones?

      2) Or is the matrix basically saying the Reflex template will NOT be responsive and will only be available in the current fixed width version?

I would like to use the RT responsive template features for my site since I'm getting more smartphone visitors than I thought I would get.
      3) Can you recommend another template to switch my site from Reflex to a responsive RT template that will make the conversion easy?

      4) What type of problems and changes do you need to make when switching a Joomla site from an RT fixed width template to an RT responsive template?

I would like to make the conversion as easy as possible but I just don't know enough about the steps and problems that might be involved.

      Thank you for any advice!

    • Reflex template will have J3.1 version but it won't have responsive version I am afraid. Since all our templates follow the same philosophy of assigned module positions, whichever template you use, you should have no issues, except the fact that you will have to prepare your content for responsive layout

    • Hi Igor,

Thank you for the info. I have a few more questions. I apologize if these questions seem like a "newbie" but I actually don't use smartphones at all. So I'm not up-to-date on how smartphone users view websites with the small screen limitations.

You wrote: "except the fact that you will have to prepare your content for responsive layout"

What do I need to do to prepare my content for a responsive layout?

Does that mean that any photos or modules or content that is wider than a smartphone screen will not display properly even with a responsive layout template?

Can smartphone users just scroll to see the content/photos/modules that are wider than the smartphone screen with a responsive template?

      Thanks for any advice.

    • Hi Igor,

I can't check the page you posted a link to: index.php?f=654&t=172398&rb_v=viewtopic

I guess I first need to subscribe to the RT templates again. I have the RT extension subscription since I only use the Reflex and didn't need other templates until now.
