Installation says "Success!" but my site says otherwise.

  • Installation says "Success!" but my site says otherwise.

    • I have limited experience working with Joomla and have never had a difficulty with installation. I used RocketLauncher (for the first time) to install Vers. 3. I went through the install steps easily enough. Everything appeared to be fine, but going to the home page or the admin page results in a blank screen. I checked the config file to be sure the URL is correct. It is.

      I removed all of the files, deleted the database and started all over again, only to see the same results. Worse case scenario: I re-install Joomla the old-fashioned way and then add the theme. Since I am still learning my way around RocketThemes, I would like to have the sample data already in place so I would really like to use the Launcher.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks.

    • Are you sure you have your "live-site" designated correctly?
      Did you install the site into a subfolder?

    • Joomla is installed in the root folder.

      My configuration file tells me the live-site is correct:
      $mosConfig_absolute_path = '/var/www/vhosts/fbc-stpaulsnc.com/httpdocs';
      $mosConfig_live_site = ' fbc-stpaulsnc.com ';

      Is there somewhere else I should checking?

      I really appreciate your help.

    • The only files in my root folder are:

      There are no other files in my root folder than those that are customary with my other Joomla installs. Even if that were not the case, it would not explain why I cannot access the back end of the site.

      I appreciate your help, but I think it's time to do things "the old fashioned way". I suspect that there have to be some missing files in the install package somewhere.

      Thanks again for your assistance.
