PHP 5.4 Drops "sqlite" ... RokGallery Broke

  • PHP 5.4 Drops "sqlite" ... RokGallery Broke

    • I just did a switch from LiteSpeed to Apache 2.4 to fix some security loopholes, and turns out, its actually faster. I also updated to PHP 5.4.17.

BIG PROBLEMS! Anything using RokGallery left me with a blank front page only and no RokGallery modules showing up on depth pages. I could set up a php.ini to make the front pages load, but still no gallery. I browsed the forums heavily to find a resolution for a RokGallery based problem. Rok was looking for PDO Modules to no avail, despite their presence on the server.

I did a bit of research and found out that since PHP 5.4.x + will be dropping sqlite in favor of SQLite3, RokGallery just wont work.

Is this something that can be fixed?

In the interim, I am rolling back to PHP 5.3.

I hope I don't have to reacquire an account just to get the updated component and module, by the way. I just won't do it.

Sorry for posting this in General ... feel free to move this, Moderators.

    • PHP 5.4 is dropping support for sqlite but support for sqlite3 will exists and if you have proper php pdo driver for sqlite3 everything will work correctly.

I am afraid that if you need to update extensions that belong to the Extension club you will have to get proper membership 8)

    • I guess I'll have to create a new account to get an extension membership. I am not allowed to get one unless I get a template membership.

Either way, there has been a few posts about this lately and I wasn't able to reply to the threads. Maybe this will end their wild goose chase through the php.ini forest.
