  • How do you offer RT templates to your clients?

    • To the developers here

      How do you offer your clients the RT templates. Do you incorporate them within your own site or do you provide a link right to the templates page and let them select what they wnt with you then modifying.

      Or do you do something else?

      What pro's and con's do you have and how do you address these?

    • Hi there,

      I give the RT demo link to my clients and ask them to check the templates and make a list of the bits they like and why as well as a list of what they don't like and why. I also have a plain Gantry demo site set up on my server and let them see that as a start point if they want custom built.

      I also provide links to sites that I have done along with the name of the template used. This lets them see how different a template can be made to look.

      Pro's - They get to see several years of templates so they feel confident about stability. They can also see a very busy and active community. It also gives them a get of jail free card if they fall out with you.

      Con's - They start to think the cost of change is quite high compared to the template price, so extra selling is required.
