Is there a way to have a dropdown login menu item?

I simply assumed this would be a simple thing and from what I see it is most certainly not.
Any suggestions for this? I want one of my menu items to be a drop down login box like here on roketTheme

You said it your self. This is not easy to achieve in the way we have it because we have something like tooltip which includes Login box with additional stuff. You could have for example Module as child menu item. Check under Dropdown Menu Options in menu item configuration to see how to achieve this

I'm interested in doing exactly the same thing... to post the login module as a child menu of the main menu. I'm using the Alerion template. Unfortunately I don't know how to take care of this. Where do I get the settings that I need for this task. If I check out the menu module there is nothing that seems to be helpful... same thing at the menu settings at the template side. A bit lost here... would be greatful for any suggestions. Using the latest Alerion template version on a joomla 2.5.14 installation.

Better ask in the template related forums.
Just to add to what Igor already wrote:
These instructions are still more or less valid:

Look for Advanced module options.
(tho the newer responsive templates are using the "Gantry-menu" instead of" Fusion")
The Alerion-Rocketlauncher is also featuring such a module.
You can inspect to learn how that is done.

Thanks Henning... found it out by myself already. the question was placed as a general problem... I just wanted to know where to adjust the settings. It wasn't a template question. I just mentioned my installation since you guys usually want to know the entire setting.
