Google help - Wrong information showing in search reults
Posted 11 years 7 months ago
Hello Forum,
Our previous site was running on J1.5 and had been hacked an filled with viagra ads..... I have now launched our new website
http://www.nstage.co.uk/
using the Cerulean template and I am very happy with the look of the site at the moment.
The problem that I have is that our old index information is still showing in the Google results page
I have re-indexed using Google webmaster tools, is this all I can do? Is it just a waiting game for Google to refresh? The site new site has been live since Tuesday 10th.

You could also add a sitemap and ask google to refresh using that (again using google webmaster tools). Use the sitemap extension on JED to create the XML sitemap. It shouldn't take any longer than 48hrs for google to refresh so make sure you have truly cleaned your site.

I think I need to do some work on my domains though from what I am reading as I currently have 2 domains pointing at my Joomla folder and from what I am reading I should be using a http re-direct instead..... This will avoid duplicate content on Google and improve our site ranking a little.
