Could you please post a URL to your site so we can look for you. Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.
Please don't post template/extension question in general discussion - as soon as I can see what template you are using I'll move this thread to the correct forum.
I believe the answer will be to use a rokcandy macro to add <sup> tags around the registration character.

Hi Mark,
my question was not related to a specifical template but I apologize for having posted in the wrong section.
The ® is just a character which is part of the font like a, b, etc. so your tip to use rokcandy with the <sup> tag is a way to bypass the limitation.
