permanent redirect from main domain to language

Hi, friends. I just understood that joomla language based redirect from main domain like vervo.lv to vervo.lv/lv is not good because it is temporary redirect and it does not pass page rank.

Is it possible to change it to 301 permanent redirect? And how it will affect other languages?
I have 3 languages on site, and if new user comes the main domain is redirected to the default language vervo.lv/lv
For returning visitors it is what they selected on last visit.
If it is possible how this redirect would look in .htaccess?
1. is this good idea to set permanent redirect from domain.lv to domain.lv/lv i am afraid how it would affect other languages
2. if i don't use language perfiks in language plugin then problem is solved, but then there is other problem
if someone tries to open url from main language (without perfiks) and hi has other language set in webpage result is 404 because joomla ads other language perfiks to url.
