Add padding to mainbody

  • Add padding to mainbody

    Posted 11 years 6 months ago
    • Greetings,
      I am a beginner, still learning about different ways to edit the css stylesheet. I am using joomla 2.5, working with the Leviathan template. My question is how do I add padding or indent the mainbody to match the slideshows in the showcase position?

      Also, how do I make all corners of the mainbody rounded to match the top left of the mainbody?

      Here is an example of one page charteroakflooring.com/hardwood-services/stair-refinishing

      Thank you

      First of all you have to clean up your content - It's full of MS Word rubbish code and that can break stuff and also make the page not display in Internet Explorer. Remember to never paste content from word into any online editor.

      You can clean up the Word code in 2 ways:

      1. Your Joomla editor might have a feature that cleans Word code.

      2. Copy the content from your Word document, open Notepad or Notepad++ and paste the content into one of those editors. Now, press CTRL-A and then CTRL-C (This means that you select all text and you're copying it from Notepad)

      Open your Joomla editor and paste the content and then save.

      Clear the cache and refresh the page.

      Also, try adding this to your custom CSS file:

      .rt-pages {
      display: none !important;
      }

    • Thank you. I have mainly been using the cut and paste option through google chrome. Some of the text originated from a MS Word document. I suppose to be safe, I should go though and follow the process you outlined for every article and language typed into modules.

      I am a Mac user, so is text editor a sufficient replacement for notepad?

    • Forgive me, I am labeled a newbie for a reason. Taking the advice above, I started to look at the website with Internet Explorer and everything is all over the place - especially the top module where the logos, Frequently asked questions, Visit the Showroom, Directions and Contact options are. Most of the text in the bottom modules (SERVICES, REMODEL, FINDING THE SHOWROOM, and STAY IN TOUCH) are not how they appear in Chrome and Firefox. What can I do to make sure the website appear the same across all browsers?

      The most popular ones (OS X) here in Rockettheme are; Sublime Text 2, Coda 2 and Textmate 2.

      You have more options here; mac.appstorm.net/roundups/web-dev/the-be...or-your-mac-in-2013/
