K2 and ROK plug-ins incompatiable

Installed K2 2.6.7 into a Joomla 2.5.14 site. It uses 'unknown Gantry version' with a modulus 1.6.6 template.
K2 returned a 500 error every time I tried to create a category or item, until I switched off the plug-ins:
System-RokCommon
System-RokSprocket
I can't up-date Gantry from the template because is tells me that it does not know what version of Gantry is being used.
I have tried to instal the latest Rok-Sprocket, but that does not appear to make any difference.
Any ideas?

Download gantry from
http://gantry-framework.org
and install it manually in extension manager - also check everything else is up to date too (rt extensions and template) - you can check all versions in extension manager > manage
As ever, backup first before updating anything!
