How to upgrade 2013 templates to 3.2 compatible?

Hi, I read through the documentations but still can't get answer.
After upgrading to joomla 3.2, some features of RT templates are not working( I'm using corvus), such as "enable or disable copyright message" on/off switcher of "feature" tab in template manager. When I turned it on and set the position to copyright-a, it seemed the system didn't pick it up, 'cause the front-end wasn't showing anything in copyright-a position. Whereas, I manage to add a module to copyright-a position as a test and it works fine. And in 3.1, there was no such problem.
I guess that is because I haven't upgrade the template to 3.2 compatible, so I need to know how to safely upgrade the template. I went through the documentation already but still don't get it.
