How do I find old forum topics?

Posted 10 years 7 months ago
    • Ever since RocketTheme got it's most recent facelift, I can't read old topics. Specific example:

I googled: rokgallery Unable to find job with id

The first result is: SOLVED - unable to find job with id

Awesome, right? Wrong. Follow that link, and you get a 403 forbidden error, even if you're logged into the forums. How can I read old posts?

    • you could look at the google cached results in your example...

and then just search the forum...

      www.rockettheme.com/forum/advsearch

or just search the forum, instead of google, from the get-go
    • SEARCH the forum first! These boards are rich in knowledge and vast in topics. This includes searching just the 'Solved' forums, using Google, and using ChatGPT :woohoo:

    • I appreciate the pointer, but I already tried searching the new forums for the exact same text string. I've looked through the search results, and I have not been able to find the post in the list. Am I blind?

    • Well, it gives me a 403 error. Any chance you could copy the solution and paste it in this thread?

    • Hi Ben,
I did complete removal including database cleanup. After re-installation it seem to work now, but I need some further testing. I'm still wondering what caused RG to break, to be able to avoid it in the future.

      Hello Chris,
It is difficult to say. Since the removal and reinstallation of RokGallery seemed to fix the issue one might assume that the database was corrupt is some way. If it was a bug you inadvertently discovered that you may run in to it again. Hopefully we can reproduce it if it does happen. Another probable cause is compatibility as we have already discussed. Post here again if you have trouble.

    • Part of the major upgrade here was to completely revamp and improve the search feature. Have you tried the forum search?

The search box at the top left above the logo is for the mainsite area and docs, but when you're on the Forum, click the Search Forum link in the submenu.

Results should be much better than they were before.
