    • Can someone explain the pros and cons for Joomla vs. Easyblog vs. K2?

What does one offer over the other etc. Do I lose anything with one over the other...

      Thanks

    • I've never used easyblog...

the main "pro" for Joomla articles is that they're simple and they'll (mostly) always work... less complexity = less potential for issues/headaches... that being said, the main "con" is lack of features and why you see so many other "content provider" plugins for Joomla, the desire for features.

The big pro with K2 (for me) is that you get cascading options by category... so if you want author/publish date/or whatever else "hidden" you can set that at the category level and it'll cascade to every article (k2 calls them items) in that category whereas with Joomla you can only set those options globally or on every article individually. K2 also has alot more attributes for every item/category and you get integrated article commenting. K2 also has tags which Joomla 3.2 now does too... k2 also gives you additional users permissions and options which extend into useful frontend Author features... if you have alot of authors on your site k2 is a nice way to give them better prsence on the frontend -- an avatar, a description, the ability to sort articles by author, etc.

      tldr: simple vs features
