Major bug in Joomla 3 templates by RocketTheme

Posted 11 years 1 month ago
    • Hello,

There is a major bug in the content over-ride on the Joomla 3 templates I have been using from RocketTheme.

If one configures in Articles > Options > Show Unauthorized Links - Yes, and adds a readmore to an article set to 'registered' (or anything above public), then public/guest users should see a login prompt. However, with RocketTheme templates for Joomla 3 (the ones I have tested anyways - Ximenia, Hexeris, Vermilion), instead of a login prompt, the entire article displays.

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Set article options - Unauthorized Links to yes
      2. Make and article or change existing one to 'registered'. Make sure there is a readmore break with text before and after
      3. Navigate to that article as a public user
      4. You should see the whole article instead of a login prompt

Deleting (or renaming) the /RT_Template_Name/html/com_content folder to remove RT overrides restores the login links.

      Hope this helps others,

      Jordan

    • Hmm...

My process using Vermilion on a J3.3 install:
      1. Select an article with multiple paragraphs
      2. Place a System Readmore after the 1st paragraph
      3. Set the article to Access = Registered
      4. SAVE article
      5. In Article Options set Unauthorized Links to yes
      6. SAVE

      This is my result:

So it seems to be working for me.
