- you may be calling it full-width but in reality it's 1410px wide... most all new RT templates are 1200px wide... older ones are 960px wide... you'd have to completely override the Gantry grid system if you wanted to make a template wider and still have all the modules fit neatly inside your new width value

It's not a small deal... you could theoretically do it all with css...
basically, you'd redo all the math for all the containers in this file:
/libraries/gantry/css/grid-responsive.css
and place it in your custom.css
