Help with uploading, cataloguing, filtering, downloading of individual files

Hi
Does anyone know of an extension or functionality within an existing template that will allow someone to easily deal with uploading, cataloguing, filtering and finally downloading of individual file (.doc . pdf) etc.
I work for a private college with a lot of sales material and prospectus, application forms etc, and I want to allow customers and students to be able to download relevant material based on their requirements (country / part-time courses / full-time courses etc.). I would be very grateful for any suggestings

I think it will do what you need... - Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
