switch homepage from mainmenu to othermenu - Problem Solved

sorry for the n00b question.
im trying to switch the homepage set to mainmenu to othermenu, so that i can remove the mainmenu buttons.
i have got rid of main menu completely and still have a homepage link on the othermenu but when i first go to my localhost (im using xampp) it says that the homepage cannot be found.
when i click on the home link in the othermenu it then goes to the homepage.
has anyone got any ideas as to how i can switch the homepage around from mainmenu to the othermenu?
This happens when i first go to it.

Managed to solve this by changing the index.php file on line 76 from;
. "\n WHERE menutype = 'mainmenu'"
to
. "\n WHERE menutype = 'othermenu'"
Hope this helps anyone else stuck on this problem
