  • Kraken Grid Content style applied to Page Content

    • Hi,

      On the homepage of Kraken, you can find a very nice way to show "blog items". This is done through "grid content" particle. Unfortunately, these particles are all static and don't seem to be able to use actual Joomla articles like RokSprocket.

      Could someone tell me how the CSS of the "grid content" can be applied to regular Joomla articles based on their standard titles, images & content.

      I hope this question makes sense. Basically, style Joomla articles exactly like "grid content".

    • Question makes perfect sense. The best way is to use an Inspection tool like Chrome Developer Tools .

      Then on a MainBody Block with your Page Content Particle, create to the right or left a Grid Content Particle. Then you can easily compare both and adapt the Grid Content CSS to that of your articles.

    • I can see the css applied to the gridcontent, but how can I have the PageContent (joomla articles) like this? Where can I add this CSS within Joomla?

    • As a matter of a fact, it almost seems with the new particle system, all is based on static content. There doesn't seem to be any info on standard joomla content integration (more specifically, its styling)

      In Gantry 4 in the Admin -> Advanced Tab -> MainBody -> you needed to have thie ENABLED to see Joomlas article page content.
      It's much the same for Gantry 5 where you add a Page Content Particle if you want Joomla's page content to be shown.

      As far as styling goes Joomla's CSS provides the styling for the Main Body. In Gantry 5 all content must be represented by some type of Particle in the Layout Manager however your not limited to our theme designed particles. You can use Joomla modules our RocketTheme extensions or 3rd party extensions.

    • OK, understand that you need to place the Page Content particle into the template to get the Joomla content, but is there a way to style this "Page content" particle exactly the way the "grid content" particle is styled? That's what I'm looking for.

      PS: if for example they would ever make the option in a grid content particle, to select joomla articles and/or joomla category, this would be excellent, but for now, it seems I need to somehow have this styling from grid content applied to Page Content.

      Unlike Gantry 4 we kept the needed styling to a minimum to keep it from getting bloated and slow. We certainly couldn't have a series of options to apply everybodys favourite particle look to Joomla's mainbody.

      Even in Gantry 4 there were no options to apply a modules styling to Joomla'a Mainbody. This is where Chrome Developer Tools is so important. It makes adapting CSS styling code blocks from one kind of content to another easy.

      If your unfamiliar with CSS than there is another option. You can use Joomla's loadposition parameter to load a custom HTML module with all your requierd content.       I am currently going through our old posts and was wondering if you still need help with this issue or can we close it?

      New versions of the particles can now pull from Joomla articles.
