- This may be a dumb question but is there a way to unpack .rar , .zip whatever server side? So instead of having up unpack the templates locally can you just upload the .rar and unpack it on the ftp? The reason I ask is some templates are pretty big and takes awhile to upload them. If you could upload just the .rar and unpack it, it would be no probelm. Anyway, any help is appreciated.

- Log in to your web hosting Cpanel and use the File Manager to upload the template.tgz to your template folder - now in the File Manager click on the .tgz file and choose Extract file. Now you can delete the .tgz file.

There may be a better (easier) way to do this, however I do not know what that would be.

- There is no cpanel in GoDaddy accounts, I am having the same problem... actually have you even been able to get your godaddy acount to install the template???

I've never tried to upload the template through godaddy. I always use a ftp program to do that. There are two good one's that I know of you could try.

But there is an XML installer, does everything in the template work by just uploading it into the template folder?

For Joomla 1.0.X yes (1.5 I suppose too). Just take care the the folder structure is kept. Upload it and next time you go to the Template manager the template will be there!

- I never used to xml install your talking about. I always just find the template I want (if it's a newer one) and download the RocketLauncher for it. Unpack the files and upload them to the directory. Works perfect
