Audacity Slideshow Question

  • Audacity Slideshow Question

Posted 8 years 11 months ago
    • I've installed the audacity template and am trying to replicate the slideshow. When I set the slideshow module up it says to select "stories" for the theme in the layout options.

I see Default / Modern / Portrait as my options.

      Where is the "stories" option?

I did notice that something has changed in the module instructions on the demo pages on rockett - there are a whole bunch of layout options that are not in the documentation examples for recreating the look of the theme.

      Thanks - Kent

    • Welcome to the boards!

You must've picked Lists as your layout... pick Features as the Layout when you create the Module

    • Hey Matt! Thanks for the response and welcome, but no. I've tried every RocketTheme style setting and none offer the way the instructions are shown in the demo documents after I purchased my new membership. I've picked lists, quotes, features, and every other option.

I've made a new module about 12 times today to test as many things as possible. None give me the look of the demo site with the full screen spread image with text overlay and four small image icons for other stories.

Here is a link to what I am trying to get to.
      www.rockettheme.com/docs/joomla/template...ity/demo_module_2.md

The documentation does not show a current method of achieving this look.

Any help would be appreciated as my partner is pushing for a move to wordpress because she feels that the wordpress platform offers a better showcase for recipe based websites. We just fought the battle of why we should pay for a theme with outdated instructions.

Thanks - looking forward to your suggestions. - Kent

    • We have Audacity for WordPress too... I personally prefer Joomla but everyone has their reasons.

If this is a brand new site I'd recommend using the RocketLauncher package... it'll install everything : Joomla, Template, all Extensions, all Demo content/pages; pre-configured.

Otherwise, post Admin Details in the Secure Tab of a Full Reply (blue Reply button) and I'll check it out
--need the name of your Module and a link to where it lives on the Frontend of your site

    • Thanks for the info, I've had the site www.thedeckchef.com using joomla for at least 8 years. Right now it's a mess because I renewed my rockettheme member ship and tried to install the new theme which seems to not work too well with the outdated instructions.

As for the reason for looking at Wordpress - there so many options/plugings that seem plug and play, that now offer formating, seo, google search tweaking, built in categories, K2 like features with extra fields already built in and ready.

Recipes and cooking formating is very specific - which shows up in google, and how people view your recipes. It's more than a list of ingredients. There are conversions, where to shop, instructions, etc, etc, etc, and it seems like I have to do all of this manually with every article I post via Joomla or using K2.

Now I've repaid for the rockettheme membership for a theme that works across mobile devices and it has wrecked my site.

Plus, I've searced several times on the site on how to run Rocketlauncher - mind you - I write cookbooks for a living - and there seems to be no acurate instructions on how to do this.

There are options on the download page, but when you go to install the zip file there is always an error. I would love a current link - as in with the latest plugins and themes - for using rockettheme rocketinstaller. Not every customer is a website guru or designer. Some of us are just trying to make a basic site to pay some bills.

Thanks again for your replys and help - much appreciated as you are the only person that has offered any solutions.

      I'm a a brick wall

    • You've only posted on this thread so far? If we can help with your other site please open a new thread.

I do not feel like our docs are outdated... they're regularly updated in fact and should be accurate in each detail.

Please check out the RocketLauncher package instructions... you need to unpack it on clean/empty/new webspace and create brand new database+user... then hit your website and follow the on-screen instructions to install... Joomla should NOT be installed first.
