    • OK so it's here. 1.5 "stable" ;D :o :-*
Has anyone done a migration yet?
Is there an *official* migration tool component release?
Any cool links to tips or guides for proper migration?
Table dumping made fun and easy?

    • No news yet....I have been side-tracked this weekend. (taking a buddy to VA hospital today )
As soon as I give it a go I'll post back and let you all know how it went....
I have several live sites that I would like to migrate..just too chicken to hit a live site with this. Am going to test it out on test box first.
If it gets ugly I wont mess up the live sites.....

I did a bit of reading on joomla.org and as far as I could tell, there are many components that you cannot migrate, or at least not yet.

Yes, this is exactly why I didn't tested migration yet. I have 6 large websites with many components. We will have to wait for new component versions, maybe 2 or 3 months. Personally I can't do anything yet.

This thread sheds a bit of light on some things, thread seems a bit grouchy but does contain some info.

The migrator component is still a RC , and according to the author there will be another RC file release soon.

current version is RC5 and RC6 is just down the street....

    • Thanks Yves, most useful. Speaking purely personally.........I think I will wait......for quite sometime! :D , especially for those larger sites of mine. So long as J1.x is supported, I don' see any hurry, the sites work now, and they will still work tomorrow.
