    eCommerce Solution for Selling Services???

Posted 17 years 3 months ago
    • I'm stumped! Can anybody help?

We are a virtual assistant staffing agency and want to provide visitors to our website with the option to sign up for our services right away. I found www.openfreeway.org and it looks like it would be a great solution because it allows the selling of services and also allows the usage of www.linkpoint.com for credit cards. Unfortunately, it's 'coming soon' and I would like to implement this right away.

Question #1: Does anyone know of anything similar to Freeway?

I've been playing around with VirtueMart but VirtueMart is forcing me to list categories, which I don't want to do. Also, it's not very pretty. Here's the test site I've been playing on: www.marketcenterunderground.com . If you click the 'Get A VA Now' tab, you will see the dummy categories. What I would like to happen is for all of the products to show up without the categories. So, say for instance, you click on 'Hand Tools', that is an example of what I want the 'Get A VA Now' page to look like. I would simply turn all of those items into services and hopefully, be done with it.

Question #2: Is there a way to "get around" listing categories using VirtueMart?

VirtueMart is a module, so the only way I've been able to figure out how to get the products to list in the content of the page is to insert {mosloadposition left} into the static content for the 'Get A VA Now' page. This is great however, I don't want the module to show on the left. If I unpublish it, the module is not viewable in the content.

Question #3: Is there a way to insert a module in content without having it show up in it's module position on the page.

If anyone can offer any solutions or tidbits of information, it will be greatly appreciated!

BTW, We are using Joomla 1.0
