Are there any plans to update older templates with Gantry 5?

Sorry if this is covered somewhere else in the forums... I searched this forum and didn't see this question:
I remember back when RT implemented Gantry 4, that RT went and updated some of the older themes to use it.
I was just wondering if they had any plans to do the same thing with Gantry 5, as there are many slightly older templates that I would love to use. Obviously I can just use them with Gantry 4 if need be, but it would be better if they were Gantry 5.

Good question!
At this stage there have been no signals from the dev team that we will be converting G4 templates. This would be time consuming and it is already hard enough to get new templates out to meet demand. There is also the added potential problem of someone doing an update with wrong version and creating mayhem with their site.
I will see if I can get confirmation on this for you.
