Re: Re: I've really messed up. How to backup my database?

I tried installing the SEO patch from
www.joomlatwork.com/
and something has messed up. Will I be able to save my content if uninstall Joomla, reinstall and use the same database I already have?
Do you have a FTP access to your files ? Like David Goodwin wrote, delete the Installation files in your site root and/or administrator folder. Look at the content of my administrator folder, there is no installation folder. You have to delete yours.

I deleted the installation folder just after I installed but I accidently ftp'd things into the root folder and other folders by accident so I think some of the original files were overwritten by the stuff I downloaded from
www.joomlatwork.com/
.
They have a "redo" patch but it isn't helping when I ftp these "original" files that they provide that supposedly undoes whatever I've done.
Attached is a screenshot of my root folder content. Would it be possible for someone to send me all the original files or would I be best to uninstall and start over hoping there is no problem restoring content from the database?

Sounds like you may need to re-install Joomla. Backing up the databse will bring along many of the bugs that you are experiencing now.
I've had to re-install Joomla before. I just simply made text documents (.txt) for each piece of content and then rebuilt it again after re-installing Joomla. I had to re-install all my photos also. There may be a more efficient way, but I don't know it.
