    • Hey all.

Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your kind words over the past month RE: our new baby. Just wanted to share with you guys what's been keeping me occupied over the past few days. Turns out Supra wasn't the only thing we launched this week. :)

I'll be back to regular forum activity in a week or so once we get settled in. Thanks for your patience, and again for your kind words. Hope it's OK with you guys that our Supra docs are coming a couple days later than usual.

    • Hey Ryan, I have a present for you and a story to go with it. It could help you save your sanity from sleep deprivation.

First the present: Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems - Revised Edition

My daughter had health problems her first 9 months due to reflux. We lovingly named her "Scud Queen" in honor of the scud missiles during Desert Storm. We had scud rags throughout the house since she did everything projectile style (every 22 minutes like clockwork and that's not an exaggeration). Due to obvious choking hazards, she slept semi-upright those first few months and her sleep pattern was totally warped (as were ours).

Adjusting to a healthy sleep schedule when it subsided was another story. All efforts to get her on a routine, ANY routine, failed. To say we were both exhausted is an understatement and this was our lifesaver! Within 4 days after purchase, my daughter was sleeping overnight and the difference in her demeanor was amazing. She was happy and WE were finally sleeping.

      SIDE BENEFITS OF THE BOOK:

Moms can take up to 2.5 hours to get through a grocery store, even with a short list. We are honor bound to read every label and inspect every package to protect ourseleves and our children. After one such trip and managing a child with two full baskets, one of which is nothing but diapers, baby wipes in large and porta-pack sizes, bottles, caps, rings, nipples, eco cleaning supplies (What! No more WINDEX? Can't use LYSOL! FORGET Clorox!), Mom arrives at the checkout with a huge line of impatient, sleep deprived mothers behind her. After 20 minutes of scanning, she's caught grabbing backup baby wipes intead of fumbling for the wallet now resting on the changing table at home and now those other moms are turning into dragons.

You come home to Mom crying her eyes out with exhaustion and she's too embarrassed to go back because she had to leave all that stuff at said checkout and make a mad dash to the car, baby in tow. Irate bottle throwing Moms are on her heels! YOU now get to go to the store after a 14 hour day and you BETTER remember to check those labels because we give quizzes.

SURVIAL NOTE: If you don't go to a different store, take cash and don't dare say your name or mention your wife's name. She is now KNOWN there by every mother in the store.

You two won't need Visine by the truckload. Mom will be able to tell the difference between under eye concealer (now purchased by the case) and lip gloss. Best of all, while other moms are walking around like zombies covered with the green patina of fatigue, YOUR Mom and baby are both happy, healthy and SLEEPING! With new found peace restored, neither of you will grab the Desitin instead of toothpaste again. Mom won't be grabbing the nair instead of the conditioner. YOU will be able to focus on work without chugging 5 hour energy drinks every 15 minutes. It will definitely deter Road Rage, so this is, in a sense, a community safety measure.

I mean, this stuff is SERIOUS, okay!

There are no manuals for raising children as each is unique. But this one remains on my forever list next to Doctor Mom. Every new mom I've known since 1992 has received a copy from me and I have yet to have a return or complaint. I have, however, received many gifts from happy perky moms including bountiful plates full of home recipe brownies and (my personal favorite) Mounds Bars, so I have to think there is something to it.

So there ya' go. Lecture over. Unsolicited advice complete. I will butt out now so you can go kiss your babies. Have a wonderful day with your beautiful wife and son.

P.S. Do your cheeks hurt from smiling yet? LOL
