How to speed up a WordPress website using RT themes?

Hi all
I am sure most developers and designers are conscious of the need to make sure their sites function as fast as possible.
Rocket Theme WordPress Themes - amazingly adaptable as they are - are also resource intensive. When used on large websites - I have found they need help - via caching plugins.
I have tried many WP cache plugins and after going through all the hype - have ended up working with W3 Cache - the free version!
It's hard work to get it setup but it does the job! (Other ideas welcomed - only if free!)
However what I am finding is that it is really difficult to work with some of the RT plugins.
Google Page Speed specifically mentions Roksprocket / Rokbox / Rokajaxseach as items needing to be optimised.
Most importantly I get this msg in PageSpeed Tools
Your page has 10 blocking script resources and 19 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Relating to wp-roksprocket JS and others
However I cannot find a way to work with W3C to solve this.
Just wondering if anyone can advise?

You'll need to read through the docs Google provided... the "render-blocking JS and CSS" is the most annoying thing that Google measures, but it really doesn't effect it too many points... it'd be near impossible for any plugin dev to code for that... effectively, google wants all your above the fold content to have inline CSS and JS and not rely on CSS or JS sourced from a file... there's no real way a plugin can accomplish that unless ALL of it's CSS was inline which really isn't optimal at all.
JCH Optimize Pro is the only tool I've seen with an option to inline X lines of frontend HTML with all the CSS and JS it needs... I personally rarely will do this though because it's messy and doesn't really save much in load time... only if a site is hyper-competitive SEO wise would I ever bother with that. - SEARCH the forum first! These boards are rich in knowledge and vast in topics. This includes searching just the 'Solved' forums, using Google, and using ChatGPT

Really appreciate your detailed answer!
Google speed testing is a real time-consumer!
We have successfully managed to work on some of the recommendations.
I have some outstanding problems with RokSprocket Mosaic for example - where we are using multiple tags and a lot of articles with image
But have found a workaround on this.
The main thing you wrote - which resonated was this...

That really is one of the main issues.
Is the site fast enough for the users who are likely to go to it!
This is, I guess, what I have been trying to learn and discover..
To prove the point of what you were saying..
When I ran Rocket Theme through Google Page Speeds
It gave me comfort to know the site I have been working on has better scores.
But your SEO rating will be top notch I can imagine.
Anyway - thanks Matt - it was REALLY good to get a viewpoint from someone whose knowledge I respect.
Out of interests sake are you part of the developer team?

aye, even google.com has less than perfect scores... especially on mobile depending on what their current topical graphic/video is... amazon.com is like 50/100...
