Auction Catalogue suggestion

    • Hi all

      Am looking for some suggestions.

I have been approached by a company to setup a website for their company which is an auction site.

They are not looking to hold online auctions or have live bids, they merely want to display their auction brochure by date and then give visitor to then look at the entire content of a particular auction OR by category.

I have looked at extensions for auctions but they all seem to have loads of features they dont need (e.g. online bids, live bids etc) and dont display the seperate items by the auction date.

For each article they want to have a photo, description, Reserve price and Guide Price.

Can any of you suggest a way to do this?

      Thanks

      Graham

    • Have a look at this then - it will probably do the job (assuming you are talking about Joomla CMS). https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/dj-catalog-2/ .

    • Hi Mark

I looked at that and spoke to them, it would get too messy because they need it to be grouped by auction date.

      Thanks

    • Ok but you can use filters and sort?

But if you have looked at this then I guess it doesn't meet your reuirements - I would have thought that fitted but ok. I'd suggest then looking for "catalogue" extensions on JED.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Btw I had another idea but it depends on your skillset.

You could use "Fabrik" to build your own database application - it's a fantastic system for building applications in Joomla and I've used it on many client projects. It does however require a resonable knowledge of MYSQL and PHP to get the best out of it.
