"Title" Optimization

  • "Title" Optimization

    • My client wants to have more descriptive titles for search optimization. But, the title that appears in the title bar is extracted from the title used as a link (menu item). Right? If I make it longer, it gets too long to be used as a link. Is there a workaround? Or are we limited to the Meta Info for search optimization purposes? Thanks for your help on previous questions by the way.

    • Are you using J1 or J1.5?
Have you tried out any SEF options? If not, maybe this thread will help.

      Cheers!

    • Yes, I did. And this would be exactly what I need. I should have been more clear in my response. I meant to say that I'm not sure whether I'm using J1 or J1.5. I see that the patch is for 1.0.7-1.013.

It looks to me that you are using Joomla 1 and not the new 1.5 which is just fine, although you may want to ensure that you are using the latest J1 which would be J1.013. Log in to your Admin backend and look at the bottom of the screen and you will see which version of Joomla that you are using.

J1.5 being new does not have a lot of extensions as of yet, fyi, thus you may want to use what you've got for now, depending on your situation.

      Cheers
