They were not new themes, just Grav ports of existing ones that had been out on Joomla for a very long time. It's not as though Grav is getting more attention than Joomla. We are still developing new templates on Joomla first. A new Joomla template is coming out any day now.

So these conversions will replace a normally scheduled "New Joomla Template release". Sounds like your selling us the same product twice. You never mentioned that in your Facebook post!

I feel as though you're intentionally leaving out the very next sentence I said. We are literally days away from another template release.

That wasn't my intention at all. I was simply focusing on your claim that the conversions "shouldn't be discounted" towards the tally of Joomla Template Releases.

Exactly. They shouldn't be. We're a very small team and Reggie put a lot of work into taking the concept of Myriad and turning it into a working G5 template. It took as much effort as it does for us to release a new template entirely. For many of our users, this has a huge impact because it means that Myriad (and any other templates we'll be converting over the next couple years) will continue to serve as viable options beyond Joomla 4.

It's factually inaccurate to say RocketTheme hasn't released more than one template in the past six months. Myriad came out over the past few weeks, and a new template is coming any day now. Myriad is NOT replacing new template designs, but its release equates to one as it opens the door to a whole new framework and years of additional longevity to the design.

Unfortunately, final clients prefer new designs.

    • I still build new sites on Myriad myself; it's a great design that's just as modern as when it was originally released and I'm very happy it's on G5 now

    • Thanks for converting Myriad to Gantry 5.

You can plan for next template converting: Chimera?

Before I answer this, I want to emphasize that this is not 100% set in stone final, but we are looking at these templates as the next G5 conversions:
      • Anacron
      • Vermilion
      • Epsilon

That list is in no particular order, but they are our top-downloaded G4 templates after Myriad. Chimera is also certainly one of our personal favorites and we'll consider it closely.

We're working hard on the new design. We had some momentary setbacks as we moved many of our assets to a new server, but right now it looks like we're wiping out the final round of tickets brought up during testing and planning the release as the first order of business following final testing.

    • The "Denali" template was released on March 16. March 15 will be 13 weeks since the last release of the Joomla template.
