Joomla Graffito v1.12 - no saving possible

  • Joomla Graffito v1.12 - no saving possible

    • Dear forum,
I'm supposed to make some changes to a slightly older website from a non-customer using a graffito template.

I can access the backend without any problems, but I can't save anything anymore. Do you have an idea?

Joomla 3.10.12 and Gantry v4.1.33 are installed. PHP version is 7.4.33.
      The editor is Rokpad.

Thank you for your ideas - I'm a bit desperate.

    • Try toggling off RokPad and just using the normal Joomla editor.

All of the J3 "rok" extensions are considered legacy. They mostly work fine in Joomla 3 and on PHP 7 but none of them were tested through the final iteration of J3 (3.10.12) as they were retired before then.

    • Hello Matt, thank you very much for your feedback!
I tried deactivating all ROK plugins - then no content is built in the backend at all.
And in the settings I can select “none” among the editors, but I can’t click “Save” here either...

    • RokPad is just an alternate editor... it's not tied to any content it was used to write. RokCommon and RokSprocket may be in use powering parts of your theme... like a slideshow or a mosaic or something... those should work well enough with J3 and PHP 7.4

I would suggest disabling ALL 3rd party extensions... maybe you're running another plugin/extensions that only works on J4... the fact that you simply can't click a Save button anymore (is it just grayed out?) feels like a JS issue of some kind...

I found this: forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=848607 -- which has some procedures to try.

JCE is a popular editor... you could try their J3 version... but the fact you can't simply toggle back to the default editor seems troubling... Neither TinyMCE (default) or Codemirror work?
