A problem with sh404SEF - anyone seen this?

Posted 17 years 1 month ago
    • I have a Joomla site running on a local install with sh404SEF + .htaccess "mode" on.
The .htaccess file has been changed to support third party SEF components and it works 99% as it should.
But when I visit an url that doesn't exist I suddenly get all sorts of errors.

With Joomla SEF I just get a white page like this:

      Site Name
We're sorry but the page you requested could not be found.
      Return to site (link)
      Error 404

With sh404SEF I get my custom 404 or whatever static content I have chosen in the content area, but above my site I get all these errors:
Warning: parse_url(/sitename/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=51&Itemid=1&mosmsg= (http://localhost:85/sitename/the_wrong_url)) [function.parse-url]: Unable to parse url in W:\www\sitename\mambots\system\xajax_0.2.5\xajax.inc.php on line 962

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at W:\www\sitename\mambots\system\xajax_0.2.5\xajax.inc.php:962) in W:\www\sitename\index.php on line 255

A template is mentioned but the error is still there no matter what template I choose.

I have tried to un-publish a lot of modules and so on, but no luck.

The xajax is the latest version.

The .htaccess is the standard Joomla version, with the right stuff changed.

Anyone tried this or have an idea what to do?

      Thanks in advance
      Thomas

    • No I wanted to have a look but their site is moving to a new host so it seems offline at the moment.
Do you have it by any chance?

    • Which version of Joomla? Which version of sh404SEF? Which WAMP package are you using for localhost?

    • If you look at the docs for sh404sef you'll see that the first section needs to be commented out, and only the second section uncommented. (See below) If it still throws a fit, try commenting out the follow symbolic links line.

      #
      # The line just below this section: 'Options +FollowSymLinks' may cause problems
      # with some server configurations.  It is required for use of mod_rewrite, but may already
      # be set by your server administrator in a way that dissallows changing it in
      # your .htaccess file.  If using it causes your server to error out, comment it out (add # to
      # beginning of line), reload your site in your browser and test your sef url's.  If they work,
      # it has been set by your server administrator and you do not need it set here.
      #
      # Only use one of the two SEF sections that follow.  Lines that can be uncommented
      # (and thus used) have only one #.  Lines with two #'s should not be uncommented

      #
      # For Standard SEF, use the standard SEF section.  You can comment out
      # all of the RewriteCond lines and reduce your server's load if you
      # don't have directories in your root named 'component' or 'content'
      #
      # If you are using a 3rd Party SEF or the Core SEF solution

      I use Joomla version 1.0.15
      sh404SEF version 1.3.2 build 265
I use jSAS as my local server

I have another Joomla install that runs with the same specs - no problem with 404's
