    • Moving from FP to Joomla you'll have to rethink your work flow.

Working with html, you make a page add to it, make another page, add a link for that page to the first etc.

In Joomla, you have to think of the 'finished product' first, rather than adding to it bit by bit.

Moving from a FP site with tons of content to a Joomla site actually gives you an advantage as you already have the content ready.

(Some people start from scratch and don't have any idea of what they'll have or need.)

If you can decide where each article fits in the hierarchy of Sections and Categories, your halfway there.

Create Sections and Categories that will hold your Articles, then start creating Articles and organize them into Sections and Caegories.

When you are ready to publish, create menus that will display your articles as you have organized them.

It's really tough to get your head wrapped aroud the way a CMS manages content migrating from static html.

But once you've got the basics understood, it's smooth sailing.

    • Cheers, I have
If you can decide where each article fits in the hierarchy of Sections and Categories, your halfway there.

This was fine as you arer quite right. I knew where I wanted to go and I found a mass content extension that made this easy to create multiple sections categories and the pages (I didnt put the content in as I knew the code from front page would have defeated my purpose).

Now I have the articles themselves.

In short I have a wonderful design/s from rocket theme (thanks guys)
I want to make sure anything I type in via jce or tiny can be formatted using the syyles drop down box, neither are setup with the styles using rocket launcher and so far no one from rocket has told me how to do this yet, all I get is use the html editor, which is fine if you know html. I can use this for images and etc and am happy with that, but when it comes to laods and loads of typing I want to be able to use the editor. Now I know it can be done but I just cannot find out how.

Anyone out there want to share how to set up these wysiwyg editor to use the main css from rocket, please please please feel free to jump in.

    • Another trick is to copy the page but, paste it into a text editor ... all the HTML is stripped out in that step and you can then copy & past that into the edit window for your article & add any markup necessary for your theme.

Time to create page: 0.077 seconds
