This sites SEF optimisation is due to ...

Posted 18 years 2 months ago
    • Hi again

I was wondering which of the components you use to do the SEF pages names for this site? For example the products page is /products/products/products rather than the inbuilt joomla SEF page.

I recently installed OpenSEF to my test site and it kind of killed the look of the technozine template in as much as the menu at the top wasn't white it was yellow, the rotating image I have in teh header didn't show up at all and all H2 codes were just large yellow text instead of being converted to images.

I have no idea how to fix that, was duing the usual search on forums.joomla.org and noticing tons of "help me" threads with 0 replies so I thought I'd ask whats in use here as it seems to work perfectly here.

      Thanks :)

    • Hmm okay. Bit pricey that one. That costs more than membership to the template club here.

Oh well, I'll leave it. Thanks for the info :)

    • Maybe you give this a try:

      opensef.org/home/

Its beta, so you should try it on a test site.

EDIT: Hm, ok, should have read your first msg. and then post - or not. :-)

    • Actually I got this working too. The OpenSef one.

Had a small hiccup with the front page suddenly disappearing on me but that was quickly resolved too.

    • I'm liking it so far. As for google? Not sure. My site was number 3 on the list in google to begin with and number one on MSN search.

I haven't had this "new" version up very long yet so it's a wait and see thing.

For me though, I much rather the user readable links than the Joomla! created ones. Far more logical this way
