      2. How competent are you at customizing a template?

      IMHO, the most important thing is module position.

      Go to the demo site, look at the templates that are available.

      Look at the module positions that are available for each.

      Choose a template that has a layout that suits your needs.

      Customize it with the extensions you need or want to add.
