"Read more..." in a User Module?

  • "Read more..." in a User Module?

    • Thanks in advance, I am a WYSIWYG web designer, learning this stuff as fast as I can.

I am making pretty good progress, but I am stumped here; I want to put a short bit of text into a small user Module, with a "read more..." for the rest of the article. I copied an existing module, then edited it by adding the text, then assigned it to User Module 6. It works perfectly, except that in the Module Edit window, there's no "read more..." option, so the whole text is included, making the page unbalanced.

I suppose I need to learn how to write an article, then assign it to a module. If this is correct, could someone tell me how, or direct me to the appropriate Tutorial?

Many thanks, I LOVE the Rocket Themes so far!

P.S. Here's the site (in development, User Module 6 is currently disabled until I figure this out...):

    • I'm guessing User 6 is a Custom Module.

With the default editor, if I'm not msitaken, adding a Read More is not an option.

I think you can do it with JCE, another WYSIWYG editor for Joomla, but I've never tried.

One 'trick' I use is to add a read more to the Module manually and link it to a separate article.

      <br><a class="readon" href="LINK_HERE">Read more...</a>
