    • Sorry if this is an oft asked and answerd topic. I have searched for it but seems no matter what keywords I use I get a ton of unrelated hits.

      I am putting together a website to sell some software I've put together.. A trial version of the software will be available for download that has some of the features locked. By purchasing a license all the features will be unlocked.

      I was thinking of using jdownloads for the downloads and then a shopping cart for the licenses. The thing is each license key needs to be generated through the shopping cart. I also need to be able to configure multiple license options, some of the software for instance can run on an email cluster or a single email server. So, I want to offer a single machine license and a few licenses for different sized clusters. Same goes for number of threads per server. I would prefer if these were configurable options and not seperate items in the catalog as there could be quite a few permutations.

      Can Virtuamart or some other joomla shopping cart handle this? Or am I going to need to write something of my own.

      I am looking for any suggestions, ideas or comments on how to do this with Joomla.

    • No one here has sold software through Joomla before?

      I've tested a couple of the shopping carts and they don't seem to be what I want. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on using chronoforms or breezingforms for this?

      Thanks for the reply GollumX. The above isn't really what I am looking for though. I'd like the purchases to be integrated with Joomla and linked/associated with the Joomla user. The goal being a members only page for each user listing their previously purchased licenses. Also, it would be nice to integrate with some support and ticketing system at a later date.

    • I'd been searching for months, too.

      Doesn't seem to be a Joomla based solution that will handle all your looking for.

      I had to go with a third party solution.

    • Thats what i was afraid of. Looking at doing something with one of the form extensions. I just don't want to get into a big project to get this working.
