    Clean phpbb3 template (while I wait for the new club!)

    • I know Andy and the team are putting out new, matching templates in a few months--and I will be first in line--but until then...

      Can anyone recommend a simple and clean phpbb3 template?

      Essentially all of them that I looked at look like they were written by database programmers :)

      What i want is simple and clean--Vanilla gets it right, for example. I want to do away with the "statistics" section (who cares?) and with the column listing number of views (who cares?)...that sort of thing.

      And pointers--or is this easy to do on my own?

    • I use a couple of 'vanilla' ones I found here: www.phpbb3styles.net/

      Seems the site pulls each one from the phpbb3 forums and adds quite quickly...great site, though. :)

    • I'm going through the site...so many templates! Can you recommend anything in particular?

      I'm hoping (praying?) that Andy and his team can do for phpbb3 templates what they did for Joomla templates--when I was first looking at Joomla templates I thought they all looked the same...until I found Rockettheme. Now I have that same feeling again with phpbb3--"same house, different paint."

    • Looks like statistics only shows in the index page. Open index_body and comment out or delete

      To take out views open viewforum_body search for "view" and comment out or delete
      <dd class="views">{L_VIEWS}</dd>

      and
      <dd class="views">{topicrow.VIEWS} <dfn>{L_VIEWS}</dfn></dd>

      Beautiful--perfect! That's more like it--get rid of the clutter!

      Can I get rid of the silly "forum permissions" list, too? Simple and clean is the way to go!
