    • If the Article is published to a Menu, then copying the URL from the browser window should give you the full path.

You may be able to do it with JCE (Joomla Content Editor).

But, I've not tested this for creating links in Modules, I did all my linking 'by hand'.

And now I'm realizing that what you seemed to be saying in your earlier post is that the only way to do it is to link to a blog list by section or category. There's no way to directly assign 15 articles to user 1, right?
Sorry if I'm being dense. You've been great.

      No, no... it's tricky.

I guess what I'm wondering is what you are trying to accomplish by placing all your articles in module positions instead of using a Blog Section or Category layout.

You have RokContentRotator in the inset position.... this is an example of a Module displaying Articles.

When you update the Articles, they will update automatically, i.e., when the link is clicked on in the Module, the new content will show in the Article, without having to do anything to the Module. Setting publish dates, and stop publish dates, the Articles would start appearing and stop appearing as you like.

So you can have several Articles display in one Module, 15 would be quite a bit if you wanted the styling of RokContentRotator or RokNewsRotator...

Another alternative would be to place and article in a custom module with links to Articles, which you could update. However, when you unpublish them, you'd wind up with dead links... and then you'd have to go back and edit the links in the article....

Sigh..... ;D anyway.... can you be a little more clear as to what you want to accomplish?

    • Yeah, what it sounds like is that the only way is to use a module that I don't want to use (contentrotator) or broken links (an idea which defeats the whole idea of easy up easy down...)

What I'm trying to do is to have 15 or 20 classes show up one after the other in date order and go away when registration is closed and appear when registration opens. There will be two articles for every class the way I have it set up (in my head as well as in the demo) where there's a short one that shows up in the blog category listing and a longer one that gives detailed info. The short one would have an expiration date, but the longer one wouldn't need one since it's only called by the short one (never by menu).

You really are a saint... and at 3:30 in the morning, too...

One more (off topic) question. I clicked on the "quick link" next theme and then deleted the links from the module... now - my browser is stuck on the wrong template style so nothing shows up right... grrr. I looked for a cookie, but couldn't find one... Any suggestions? I've closed the browser and even restarted, but it's sticky.

Why not use a Blog Section or Category Layout and use 'Read More' links in the Articles?

From what you've said you want to accomplish, this would work just fine.

Alternately, have you considered using some type of 'booking' or 'calendar' module from joomla.org?

As far as the 'off topic' question, those links are external, going back to the original link, everything looks fine, unless I'm missing something...

    • What you're missing is that I'm an idiot. <s>

The Quick links that I played with were the ones that came with the demo content and changed my default template style... So, while everyone else is seeing style 5, <b>I</b> am seeing style 2... where I hadn't updated the logo, etc. So I need to figure out how I can get back to seeing what everyone else sees... IOW, my background is dark brownish, not green.

    • I copied the link text from the demo site and put it back in just long enough for me to fix it and then stripped it out again. What a doofus.

    • I should probably post this somewhere else... but I can't figure out the whole "readmore" button thing. I put info in an article and after the first paragraph I put a readmore button, but it never shows up and only the stuff before the readmore button shows and no button... I have looked for answers in the forum, but all I've really found is a post saying it should be enabled in global configuration and there is not a read more button anywhere that I've seen in GC (1.56).

Should I just go to bed because it's totally obvious and I'm just missing it completely?

      When editing in the module:

A: Turn off your WYSIWYG editor in Global Cofigurations
B: Turn off the code clean up feature in Tiny MCE (see screen shot)
C: Use JCE (Joomla Content Editor)
