We made a decision a while back to not include K2 in our RL's or our Demos because frankly it's very invasive and a resource hog. Even when it's not included on a page (module or component), it runs a very large system plugin. Also it loads JQuery on every page even if nothing is using it. It really should have some 'smarts' put in so that it loads the stuff it needs ONLY when it's needed.
Also, having 3rd party extensions in our packages means its even harder to stay up to date with any updates they may have. Better to just get the latest and greatest from the developer themselves.

About Metropolis —
Again RocketTheme show their stuff.
I can feel in this template the excitement of the people behind Rocket Theme to work with something new. It show trough.
Great template.
As always, some details, but I will discuss that in the Metropolis forum.

Is that a screenshot of our demo site? What is it being viewed on and what resolution so we can try to replicate.
If it isn't our demo site but rather a client site then you should get your client to post details in the Metropolis forum, as you do not have access because you do not have a valid subscription. Probably why you posted in this thread.
