    Is IE6 Finished Yet ???

    • Is it still too early to start ignoring IE6.

I'm getting toward the end of my site building, and I know the IE6 factor needs to be addressed soon, in particular the png images.

I really don't want to start downgrading my site to placate to the IE6 monstrosity. In this day and age theres no reason for anyone to be using it any more, apart from ignorance.

What do you reckon my chances are of ignoring it without damaging my site rep. I've got the IE6 warning switched on, as well as other tasteful "upgrade your browser" warnings.

Or am I still just an ignorant and recalcitrant drone of Uncle Bill?

    • I no longer testing with Interent Destroyer 6, but I do actually use IE7 when I got to style stuff...assuming that if you get things to look decent in IE, naturally FireFox will look good, though not vise versa. ;)

I know I still use it at work, though...just migrated to XP from NT and still using IE6...YOUR taxdollars at work (federal government). We'll spare no expense to save money. :)

    • Thanks guys.

I've been quite adamant from the outset not to cater to IE6. But now the launch day approaches I'm wondering whether its the right choice. I think I've covered myself well enough on the site to show visitors the way forward.

      Interesting to hear peoples opinions.
