    • Yep, I've been pretty turned off to see virtually every retail joomla template there for the taking on a variety of bit-torrent sites around the web. In light of the amazing bargain that RT templates are to paying customers, one would think that this would be less of a problem.

Having said that, I would really hate to see something enacted that would add complexity for legitimate customers in an effort to dissuade the illegitimate ones. I stopped trying to use the iJoomla products because their attempts to protect their products make it too difficult for folks like me who bought their products. And it seems to take dishonest folks a matter of hours to crack the complex protection schemes enacted by the likes of Microsoft, Adobe, and Autodesk, so I think that you're unlikely to come up with an effective scheme of protecting CSS and PHP code.

But the truth of the matter is that the real value of RocketTheme membership is access to these forums. I know that I personally would not get nearly the value from buying the templates if I didn't have access to this community, and I would probably not be as likely to use the product.

    • Im honestly getting tired of these protection schemes and when I find them I tend to tell friends not to make purchases from any ( IJoom, Clexus,,copperviz,, etcetc ) that tie the activation to a domain... it should not be their right to do so, If you purchase it, you own it and should be able to use it where you see fit,, all these current user aggrements that spell out less than that freedom, should be exposed as poor business policy and that firm should be avoided.

to say it is acceptable to make those that do things the right way PAY for those that do not is disgraceful

    • A guest has a complete access to all RT Tutorials, he can read forum ....... the only thing he can't do is to downlowd RT Templates but he can get them around Web. So there isn't difference between who pays and a guest ???

    • A guest can not read all the forums, only Announcements, General Discussion, Water Cooler, J! 1.5 discussion, RT Extensions, Members sites and the FAQs.

Therefore, all the resources locked up in the tutorials, solved and the main template sections are for members only. This is what the above posters where referring to.

Also, the demo' only contain guides to setting up the template, any indepth tutorials which are related to template customisation over normal Joomla! practise, are again, locked in the forum.

The resources available to guests are not really substantial and are generally focused towards, what the template can do and how to configure it through Joomla! which, most would figure out eventually :)

The piracy world will always be here and there is not much that we can do apart from "excessive measures". Rocket Theme much prefers to put its time and energy into its members over pirates, that is why Rocket Theme has one of the most extensive Joomla Template Club forum.

We are all appreciative for you taking the piracy of Rocket Theme seriously :)
