RocketLauncher Installation in an existing Joomla Website

  • RocketLauncher Installation in an existing Joomla Website

    • Hello,

does anyone know how to install a new Rockettheme template with the rocket launcher without loosing data such as articles from an existing Joomla installation?

What are the disadvantages when i only import a new template without rocket launcher in my existing joomla website?

      Thank you very much.

      Greetings Gerry

    • 1 - Rocket Launcher is for a new complete Joomla install with or with out sample data.
2 - If you have a Joomla install already - just download the template, not the Rocket Launcher, then install the new template into your Joomla install.

The advantage of installing a new template on an already existing site is you get a new template. :P

The advantage of using Rocket Launcher for a fresh, brand new install of Joomla is you have a lot of sample data to get you going. Of course the disadvantage is you have a lot of sample data to get rid of too. :P

      So, remember -

      - Templates: Existing Joomla sites...
      - Rocket Launcher: Brand new Joomla site...

    • 3 - You can always backup your site + SQL with Joomlapack and then use the RocketLauncher. When installation is complete then you just import your old stuff.

I think most people just installs the template and then add the exensions manually.
