Why Doesn't Chromatophore Work in Firefox

  • Why Doesn't Chromatophore Work in Firefox

    Posted 16 years 6 months ago
    • I've been testing the chromatophore template in IE for a few weeks and it's working great. Today I decided to test in Firefox, assuming everything would look fine. It doesn't! I'm using FF 3.0.1. Any ideas why this isn't working?!

    • If you are talking about the content getting pushed out of the main body try this:

      #banner {template_css.css (line 215)
      color:#FFFFFF;
      float:right;
      height:60px; <<< Change to 20
      margin-top:95px;
      overflow:hidden;
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • Thanks, that worked great . . . except now in FF I see 2 other problems:

      1. The background gradient doesn't tile all the way to the top. Any idea why this is happening. (btw, I'm not finished with the logo yet)

      2. The left column is "squished" compared to IE.

    • Sorry, I'm not seeing the issues described.

      Can you give some details or annotate a screen shot?
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • ok, that's weird! Now, it looks ok on my end also. It must have been a cache issue based on everything having been moved to the right. Thanks so much for your help.

    • never mind, I hit refresh and now I'm having the same 2 problems I described earlier. Here is a screenshot. http://www.svchapel.org/test/screenshot.jpg . I noticed that the "test announcement" has some extra padding on the right once I refresh . . . I assume this is causing the problem, but I'm not sure why a refresh would cause this problem.

    • Try adding this to your template.css.css

      body { background-image: url(../images/bg/overlay-gradient1.png) !important; }
    • Thanks,
      jim

    • unfortunately, that didn't fix it, but I think I found the cause, although I don't know the solution. I disabled the top slider that shows test announcement 1, 2 and 3. Once that was removed from the page, everything was fine. So there is a problem with the extra margin or padding that is being added to the right of that slider that is causing the problem.

    • I can't recreate the issue, looks fine here in FF and IE7.
    • Thanks,

    • I'm using FF 3.0.1 ... it looks like you're using an earlier version. It looks ok when I first come to the site, but then after hitting refresh, the problem shows up.

      Thanks again for your help.
