Backing and Restoring User Objects

  • Backing and Restoring User Objects

    • Hello All,

I am currently using Joomla version 1 and currently have approximately 500 users that are registered and successfully using my website. However, I am looking to upgrade to 1.5, but I would like to find out the quickest and most reliable way to backup and restore my user objects to save it from possibly getting lost during the upgrade.

      Please advise urgently..

      Thanks

    • Thanks very much for that recommendation.. I had a look at it and it looks great. However, I am having a few problems with some of the components and therefore want to upgrade to 1.5, but rather than backing up the entire contents of the site, I just want the backup to be done of the users. Do you know if that is possible with JoomlaPack.. where it would solely back up the user objects and nothing else, or would I in this situation have to backup everything?

      Thanks again!

    • You can exclude directories, single files and DB Tables.

    • Thanks for the response. I am using Community Builder and want to make sure that the extra bits of information get backedup. Would this back that part up also?

      Thanks..

    • As long as you keep the right DB tables, yes. Personally, I would do a full backup and remove what I don't need afterwards...
