Editing CSS with WordPad a 'No-No?'

Posted 16 years 6 months ago
    • ...after playing with some css all night (Thanks, Bill, for having a legend border of 3px look differently than a FF 3px border), I just noticed something:

Everytime I edit a css file and upload, it seems to get more bloated in size. For example, just made a simple change to the Hive menu css file, changing the right margin from 20px to 5px or something like that, it was 7.137K and after I removed a number, saved, ftp'd, it was 7.496...made another change and uploaded, 7.591K, etc, etc...

And after changing things a 1,000 times because of Internet Destroyer, I got to thinking....and thought I would ask. ;)

For quick changes, it seemed a waste to screw around with DreamWeaver, so I also fire up WordPad...perhaps I shouldn't?

    • WordPad isn't a good idea, NotePad probably isn't a major problem though.

    • Thanks, guys...will look into some of these; now just hoping no typical issues with *cough* Vista 64-bit. :)

    • 1. Get a Mac
      2. Get TextMate
      3. Buy some beer

    • I dont understand that connection between TextMate and beer (perhaps because TM comes from Denmark – these guys drink like hell) :)
