Is there a way to have 1 logo for 1 page and another for the rest?

  • Is there a way to have 1 logo for 1 page and another for the rest?

    • Hi, I am trying to figure out of there is a way to have 1 logo be used for the "main" menu button and a different logo for the rest of the menu items. In my case, I have an animated .gif that I would like to use in the main page but for the rest, I would like to use a non-animated gif.

      My site is cafulford.com/joomla

I am using the Versatility 4 template and I am very new to Joomla so please be specific is possible.

      Thanks in advance...

    • You could make a copy of your template folder, rename it, and assign all the menu items you want to use that template, rather than your default template.

So in short, copy the template, change the logo, put the alternate tempalte in the templates folder, and go to template manager in the backend...assign the new template to respective menu items. If that makes sense... ;)

(I am in NY mooching some neighbors broadband, so typing fast before they cut me off, so can be more clear when I get home, if this doesn't make sense). ;)

      5. Edit the names to reflect the new folder name
      6. Upload the directory to your /templates folder
      7. Log into the Joomla! administrator at www.yoursite.com
      8. Go to Site > Template Manager > Site Templates
      9. Find your copy and select the circular icon to the left
      10. Now select Assign
      11. Choose your menu item

    • Yves, is step #4 required?

      4. In the copies template folder, open templateDetails.xml

I only ask, as I have not been doing this when testing...hate to have problems down the road, but worked for me without doing that one. Thoughts? :)

    • Disregard...I think I understand what that does now. Changes the name of the template as seen in the backend?

Probably a good best-practice as to not get the two confused. Without changing it, both templates will have the same name name in the backend, right?

      I'll go play now...
